The National Police have detained a man in the Los Andenes neighbourhood of La Laguna in Tenerife following an unusual discovery during a routine patrol.
The arrest occurred when officers, patrolling in a marked vehicle, noticed suspicious behaviour involving two women and a man inside a parked car.
The man, attempting to avoid detection by the police, was spotted hiding in the back of the vehicle by officers as they approached the car to avoid detection. However, officers did see him and when they asked for the ID cards of the three of them, they found that the man had an active judicial warrant for his arrest.
The situation then escalated when officers conducted a search of the vehicle, discovering 31 grams of cocaine and €10,730 in cash in the boot of the car.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into police custody, where formal procedures were initiated, before he was passed over to the competent judicial authority to be charged.
