A 34-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Saturday following a fatal collision on the TF-1 motorway near Chimiche in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 2:00am, which is when the CECOES operations centre received an alert about a man being struck by a vehicle on the TF-1, and immediately dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the scene.
On arrival, paramedics determined that the victim had sustained injuries incompatible with life, and his death was confirmed at the scene.
The Guardia Civil later took charge of the investigation, carrying out the necessary legal procedures, including guarding his body until a coroner gave permission for it to be taken for autopsy and official identification.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
