A 41-year-old man died yesterday (Wednesday) after falling into the sea in a rocky area of Los Gigantes, in Santiago del Teide on the west coast of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services. This tragic incident has happened just as weather warnings have been announced for dangerous sea conditions.
Rescuers aboard a GES helicopter reached the area where two people had fallen and managed to airlift them to the helipad at the Adeje fire station where medical personnel were waiting for them to arrive.
Once on land, paramedics immediately attended to one of them who was in cardiac arrest, but despite administering advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, they couldn’t reverse the situation and his death was confirmed.
According to the report, the other rescued person was more fortunate and did not require any further medical treatment.
