Man arrested for stealing three cars from dealerships in the south of Tenerife

The Guardia Civil have arrested a man in San Miguel in the south of Tenerife, who is accused of stealing three brand new cars from dealerships in Las Chafiras worth 90,000 euros.

The dealerships have all reported the same crime to the police, giving the same description of the man, but with three different names and addresses, which detailed how he booked a car for a test drive with a view to buying it, then didn’t take it back.

After studying CCTV footage of the man and checking the names, addresses, and ID he gave to the dealerships, agents managed to track him down at one of the addresses, in possession of one of the cars he had stolen.

The police immediately arrested him and took back all three cars, which the man was using on a daily basis which were in perfect condition, and returned them to their rightful owners.

His case has now been passed to the judicial authorities for sentencing.
