A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another during a fight in the municipality of Tuineje, in Fuerteventura. The incident took place yesterday, Sunday, on Calle Matías López, according to reports from the emergency services and Local Police.
Local authorities confirmed that the confrontation took place between two men, both believed to be in their thirties and known to each other within the community. The motive behind the altercation remains unclear at this time.
The Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES) received a call requesting medical assistance for a man who had sustained stab wounds to his lower body.
Emergency medical teams from the Canary Islands Health Service (SUC) treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to the Tuineje Health Centre by ambulance for further treatment.
The suspected attacker was apprehended approximately an hour later in a joint operation by the Local Police and the Guardia Civil. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
