Residents and holidaymakers in Lanzarote are being warned about planned road closures on the LZ-2 between Arrecife and Playa Blanca throughout June and early July, as resurfacing works get underway.
The Department of Public Works for the Lanzarote Cabildo, led by Jacobo Medina, has confirmed that the road will be closed by the airport and the area of Playa Honda every Sunday from 5:00am to 11:00pm with diversions in place.
The works are part of a project to reinforce and improve the condition of the road surface and make it safer for drivers.
Medina stressed the importance of keeping Lanzarote’s roads in top condition to maintain the safety and quality of life for residents and visitors to the island.
The Cabildo is urging drivers to follow all posted diversions and to drive with caution while the works are going on.
