Los Cristianos to host the ‘XI Fish Fair’ this weekend celebrating Arona’s heritage
This Saturday, 30th August, the iconic Plaza de La Pescadora and the Old Port of Los Cristianos will transform into a lively celebration of Tenerife’s seafaring traditions with the 11th edition of the Fish Fair (Feria del Pescado 2025).
Organised by Arona Council, this annual festival has become one of the most popular cultural and gastronomic events in the south of Tenerife, attracting both locals and visitors who want to experience authentic Canarian traditions by the sea.
A festival for all ages
From 5:00pm in Plaza de La Pescadora, there will be an opening exhibition, themed children’s workshops, and live music, including performances from Índice y Medio and the traditional group Los Majuelos. At 8:30pm, the atmosphere will turn especially moving with a heartfelt tribute to the fishermen of Los Cristianos.
Down at the Old Port, from 7:00pm, Michelin-starred chef Diego Schattenhofer will host a spectacular live cooking demonstration alongside local fishermen and young apprentices. From 9:00pm, visitors can enjoy tastings of freshly prepared traditional fish dishes — a real treat for food lovers.

Arona’s mayor, Fátima Lemes Reverón, explained: “This event not only celebrates our maritime traditions, but also honours the generations who have lived from the sea. It is wonderful to see how Arona keeps its identity alive while promoting traditional fishing and its future.”
Councillor Melania Santos added that the fair is designed to be: “a meeting point for residents and tourists, where everyone can enjoy local gastronomy, fishing culture, and traditional Canarian music in a friendly, family atmosphere.”
