Lanzarote wants more British and Irish tourists

The Department of Tourism Promotion in Lanzarote (SPEL) has reached an agreement with Ryanair to carry out a 275,000 euros advertising campaign to attract more visitors to the island, primarily from the UK and Ireland.

Ryanair is Europe’s biggest low-cost airline operating at more than 200 airports in 40 countries transporting 169 million passengers a year. The campaign starts in December on the airline’s social media, website, and promotional and communication channels targeting more visitors to Lanzarote.

Although the UK and Ireland are the primary targets, they will also reach travellers from other European countries including Italy, Belgium, Germany, Poland, France, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Croatia.

If the campaign is successful, SPEL have said they have the option of renewing it throughout 2024.
