Halloween horror leaves teen in critical condition after attack in Veronicas
A 19-year-old male is in a critical condition after being violently attacked during a fight in the Veronicas area of Playa de Las Americas in the south of Tenerife, early on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at around 6:00am, which is when the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received reports of a street fight involving several people. Emergency services arrived to find the young man lying on the ground with severe injuries.
Paramedics confirmed that he had sustained multiple critical injuries. After being stabilised, he was transported to Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for urgent treatment.
The National Police have taken charge of the investigation, while the Local Police assisted with the emergency response and crowd control in the area. So far, no official details have been released regarding the number of people involved or any possible arrests.
Second incident on the same night in Veronicas
The attack came just five hours after another serious incident in the same area, when a 32-year-old man suffered a severe head injury after “falling from a height” in what was described as an accidental fall.
After stabilising him, he was taken by ambulance to the Hospitén Sur Hospital for further treatment.
Las Verónicas, one of Tenerife’s busiest nightlife districts, was reportedly crowded with Halloween partygoers at the time of the incidents. Police are appealing for witnesses as investigations continue.
