Growing concern over vehicle fires in Las Americas and Los Cristianos

Residents and business owners in Las Americas and Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife, are expressing growing concern after a series of cars have been set on fire over the last few days.

One of the incidents occurred near the National Police station in Las Americas, while another took place in the centre of Los Cristianos.

The fires have sparked fear among locals and raised questions about public safety, particularly as these incidents have occurred in busy tourist areas. Business owners are especially worried about the potential negative impact on the region's image, given its reliance on tourism.

Vehicle fires are not an isolated phenomenon in the south of Tenerife, and although the police have not yet identified suspects or made any arrests, the frequency of such incidents is causing alarm. Local officials are calling for increased vigilance and a stronger police presence to prevent more happening.

The National Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fires and identify those responsible. However, until there are clear answers, the community is urging immediate action to address the situation.
