Four men have been arrested after breaking into vending machines at a public site in Icod de los Vinos. Officers caught two of the suspects in the act, while the others were tracked down shortly afterwards.
The incident took place overnight at Drago Park, where police were alerted to a suspected robbery in progress. When officers arrived, they found several people inside the premises and detained two men immediately as the others escaped.
Following an investigation, the remaining two suspects were identified and later arrested as part of a search operation. All four are now being investigated on suspicion of aggravated theft.
Police said the group forced entry to the site, damaging doors and vending machines to access the cash inside. More than €200 has been recovered so far, although the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further arrests have not been ruled out. The suspects have been handed over to judicial authorities.
