Fire forces evacuation of apartment block in Costa Adeje
A residential complex in the south of Tenerife was evacuated early this morning (Monda) after a car caught fire in the building's garage. The incident occurred at Lagos de Miraverde on Calle del Dago, where residents were evacuated from their homes as the emergency services responded to the blaze.
Firefighters and four fire engines were dispatched to the complex to combat the flames, which posed a serious risk to the building and its occupants, and managed to control the fire quickly. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
The evacuated residents are currently waiting to return to their homes once the area is deemed safe. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Local officials have praised the quick response of emergency services, which helped to prevent what could have been a much more serious incident.
