Filming of the new Jack Ryan series moves to Tenerife next week

The Canary Islands continue to consolidate themselves as an international setting for film and TV with the shooting of the fourth season of Amazon Prime’s blockbuster, Jack Ryan. Production begins in Tenerife on Monday April 25th and two weeks later moves to Gran Canaria for another two and a half weeks to finish filming.

John Krasinski plays the former U.S. Marine in this Amazon original thriller, that centres on Ryan as an up-and-coming CIA analyst who deals with terrorism on a global scale, with other cast members including Zuleikha Robinson (Lost), Louis Ozawa (Hunters), Okieriete Onaodowan (Station 19), Nancy Lenehan (People of the Earth), and Derek Cecil (House of Cards).

While waiting for the third season to be aired later in the year, which has been delayed since season 2 premiered in 2019, fans are asking for more details of the suspenseful and action-packed forays that have taken Jack Ryan throughout Europe, the Middle East, Russia, Venezuela and, of course, the United States.

Canarian film company, Seven Islands Film, is working with the production team from Amazon, a significant example of the audiovisual fabric that is being built on the Islands and that created 4,000 jobs in the last year.

Likewise, the tax incentives offered by the Islands, of up to 50% compatible with 4% in Corporate Tax, as detailed by the Canary Islands Film commission, are a claim for these international productions that, in addition, find multiple unique locations in a geographically small territory where they can move comfortably with ample daylight hours.

In addition, this is one of the 19 projects confirmed by the Canary Islands Film commission that will be shot in the Archipelago during 2022, according to the organization's coordinator, Natacha Mora, in the presentation of last year's record figures.
