A major upgrade has been announced for the Local Police station in Fañabé, Costa Adeje, which will become a larger, more accessible, and more energy-efficient facility serving the area.
The project is expected to be completed in December 2026, and the upgrades will be carried out in two phases so that the station can continue operating throughout most of the works.
The refurbishment will increase operational capacity by expanding the car park for police vehicles and reorganising internal areas to improve workflow.
It will also enhance coordination and daily management through the creation of new administrative and working spaces. Energy use is set to improve significantly, with a projected reduction of at least 30% once the modernisation is complete.
A key part of the project is achieving full accessibility. This will be done by removing physical and sensory barriers, introducing clearly adapted signage, and creating accessible routes throughout the building.
Authorities say the renewed police station will greatly enhance the service provided to residents and visitors, offering a modern, efficient, and fully inclusive headquarters that meets the current needs of Fañabe’s growing community.
