Cloudy skies and spells of light to moderate rain will prevail across the Canary Islands today, Friday, particularly during the first half of the day, according to the state weather agency, AEMET.
Forecasters have also extended weather warnings into the weekend, with unsettled conditions expected to continue across the archipelago.
At sea, conditions will remain rough, with northerly winds reaching force 5 to 6, occasionally 7 early on, before easing slightly. Strong to very rough seas are expected, alongside a north-westerly swell of 3 to 4 metres. Calmer conditions are expected at times along southern and south-eastern coasts.
Holidaymakers can expect boat trips and water sports to be cancelled in areas with bad sea conditions under the weather warnings

Please note:
It’s important to remember that the Canary Islands are full of micro-climates due to the mountainous areas. This means all forecasts and temperatures are general for the island, and not location specific. It will generally be cooler at altitude up mountains, and warmer in sheltered coastal areas, and can be very different just a few kilometres away.
