The Guardia Civil have arrested a man and a woman, aged 40 and 39, residents of Tenerife, accused of three counts of burglary, one attempted burglary, one count of misappropriation, and one count of receiving stolen goods.
Officers became aware of the incidents following a report from one of the victims, who stated that a burglary had occurred at their home in the municipality of Candelaria, where items and cash totalling over 3,000 euros had been stolen.
With the information provided in the report, the officers opened an investigation, managing to gather sufficient evidence to identify the possible perpetrators, who were found to be two residents of the town with previous convictions for similar offences.
Just a few hours after the burglary took place, the police located the suspects and proceeded to arrest them both. During the investigation, items from two previously reported robberies were also recovered, in addition to evidence related to three other offences that have since been linked.
The proceedings have been forwarded to the Duty Court and Investigation of Güimar, with the Judicial Authority ordering one of the detainees to jail.
