Coach strike to cause major problems for tourists from Monday

Failed negotiations between transportation companies and their employees in the province of Las Palmas have set the stage for a strike starting this Monday (October 2^nd). This strike is poised to have a heavy impact on tourist services in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote.

As reported by Canarias7, the strikes have been scheduled for every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the month of October. In the event of no agreement being reached, they threaten to continue indefinitely from November onwards.

A 100% minimum service has been established for school buses, but only 30% for discretionary services. This means that transfers to and from ports and airports and tourist excursion services will be significantly reduced on the three islands in the eastern province of the Canary Islands.
