Chaos on a flight to Tenerife as a fight and a heart attack delay departure

Two incidents occurred on a plane from Madrid to Tenerife yesterday afternoon, which turned what should have been a routine journey turned into a series of onboard misfortunes that left passengers on edge.

Flight IB3944 was scheduled to depart from Madrid at 5:20pm, however, a fist fight between two passengers caused a 40-minute delay before it had even taken off. Tensions escalated to the point that six National Police officers boarded the plane to remove the instigators from the fight.

Fifteen minutes later, the plane's doors were closed and the mobile walkway was retracted ready for them to leave, when the alarm was raised again for a passenger who was displaying symptoms of a heart attack.

The take-off procedure was aborted and the plane had to return to its stand as crew urgently requested the presence of a doctor who went on board and assessed the medical condition of the passenger in question before advising that they be taken to hospital as quickly as possible for urgent treatment.

The affected passenger was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, while the plane remained with its doors open, awaiting further instructions to commence its journey, and finally, at 6:30pm they were able to close its doors and set off on its route to Tenerife. A day that will undoubtedly remain in the passengers' memories forever.
