Car fire causes heavy delays on TF-1 near Tenerife South Airport
A car fire on the TF-1 motorway, heading south near Tenerife South Airport, caused significant traffic delays this Sunday afternoon, according to reports from the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
CECOES were alerted to the incident by the 112 call centre and dispatched the relevant emergency resources to the location given within the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly while the Guardia Civil diverted traffic accordingly, which was running very slowly with long tailbacks on this section of the motorway.
Drivers using this stretch of the TF-1 were advised to proceed with caution and allow extra travel time.
No further details about the fire or potential injuries have been released at this stage.
