The Canary Islands welcomed 12.8 million foreign tourists between January and October 2025, a 3.7% increase compared with the same period in 2024, according to new data published this Wednesday by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE).

In October alone, the archipelago received 1.4 million foreign visitors, marking a 0.77% monthly rise.

Across Spain, the number of international arrivals from January to October reached 85.7 million, up 3.5% year-on-year, who spent a total of €118.6 billion, a 7.4% increase, both figures representing all-time records.

Data from the INE’s inbound-tourism (Frontur) and associated-spending (Egatur) surveys confirm sustained growth not only in visitor numbers but also in expenditure, with spending rising faster than arrival numbers.

In October 2025 alone, Spain recorded 9.2 million foreign tourists (up 3.2% on October 2024), who spent €12.8 billion, a 7% increase compared with the same month last year.
