Cabildo announce TF-1 motorway closures for work on overhead powerlines

The Department of Transport for the Tenerife Cabildo have announced new lane closures and diversions on the south carriageway of the TF-1 motorway this week, due to work being carried out on the high-voltage power lines overhead.

The motorway will be completely closed for seven minute intervals meaning no traffic can pass through the area of the works until it reopens again to allow traffic through before closing again for another seven minutes, and this will repeat until the work is completed.

The Cabildo says that they have scheduled the work by Tajao, at kilometre point 44.2 in Arico, to cause as few disruptions to traffic as possible, from 11pm on Monday night (April 1st) to 6am on Tuesday morning (April 2nd), and then again from 11pm on Thursday night (April 4th) to 6am on Friday morning (April 5th).

The works will involve the removal of overhead sections of the power lines and the installation of new cables. Drivers passing through the area are advised to exercise caution during the works and to follow the instructions provided by both road signs and workers deployed at these points.
