British police have confirmed that the body discovered a week ago near a river in York is that of Seth Jiménez Martín, a 31-year-old man from Tenerife who went missing on February 24th. The confirmation was relayed by the family in a statement yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
“With broken hearts, we must share the most heartbreaking news we could ever have imagined. Words cannot express the pain and sadness we feel at this moment,” reads the family’s statement.
“Seth was more than a son, brother, and friend; he was a light in our lives, someone who touched the hearts of everyone privileged to know him. His absence leaves an intense void that can never be filled.”
Seth’s body was found just after 3.15pm on June 16th in the River Ouse near to Landing Lane in York. He had been living and working in the UK for over a decade and was a popular member of the local community.
His family are currently waiting for an exact date for the repatriation of his body. “It is then that we will try to close this nightmare and learn to live with a piece of our hearts forever broken,” concludes their statement.
