Bomb threat at a school in Tenerife

The National Police responded to an emergency alert at a school in Tenerife yesterday afternoon (Thursday)after receiving a bomb threat at IES Tomás Iriarte located on Calle Diego de Almagro in Santa Cruz.

According to a press release from the National Police, multiple units were deployed to the school where officers conducted a thorough inspection of the premises and found no evidence of any suspicious items or devices. The incident was later confirmed to be a false alarm.

The authorities have not disclosed details about the origin of the bomb threat or any potential motives behind it, however, the swift response from the police ensured the safety of the school's pupils and teachers, and normal activities at IES Tomás Iriarte have resumed this morning.

The National Police have since reported that they are continuing their investigation to identify the source of the threat and the people involved in the incident. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any information or suspicious activities to the authorities.
