A dead body was discovered in the Los Carrizales ravine last night (Thursday), in the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife, where search teams had been looking for a man reported missing since 21st April.
According to the Guardia Civil and Civil Protection of La Matanza de Acentejo, the area had been the focus of an active search operation for Jesús, a 68-year-old resident of La Matanza, who had been missing for several weeks. The search intensified after his car was recently found in the area.
Forensic Identification Underway
Following authorisation from judicial authorities, the body has been transferred to the Forensic Institute for a post-mortem examination and formal identification. At this time, it has not been officially confirmed whether the remains belong to the missing man.
The search operation has involved several emergency resources, including Guardia Civil officers, Civil Protection teams, and specialist units trained for complex terrain searches.
Authorities are awaiting the results of forensic testing to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances of death.
