A fire on a beach in the south of Tenerife leaves one person injured

A fire on Los Enojados Beach in Las Galletas in the south of Tenerife, left a man needing medical assistance yesterday morning (Tuesday) when his makeshift shack and belongings around it caught alight.

An alert was received by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) at around 7:45am informing them of a fire on the beach, so they immediately dispatched the relevant resources to the location given.

Firefighters immediately went to the scene and extinguished the fire, but the flames left a 40-year-old man injured, who had to be taken by ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital for treatment for the burns he suffered in the incident.

The Local Police and the Guardia Civil collaborated with the fire brigade to secure the area and are investigating the cause of the fire.
