61-year-old woman airlifted to hospital after fall on Tenerife hiking trail
A 61-year-old woman had to be rescued by helicopter yesterday (Sunday) after suffering an injury following a fall on a trail near Cuevas Negras, in the municipality of Los Silos, Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), a (GES) rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene as she could not walk after her fall.
Rescuers airlifted the woman from the remote area and transported her to the La Guancha helipad, where she was met by emergency medical personnel, who provided initial care before transferring her by ambulance to the Urgent Care Unit at Hospital del Norte.
Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil has initiated the corresponding investigation and incident report.
