A 4-year-old boy has been hospitalised after suffering a head injury from being run over by a car in the south of Tenerife yesterday afternoon (Monday), as reported by the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident happened on Calle Núñez de Balboa in Alcalá and CECOES immediately dispatched the relevant emergency services to the location given, after receiving an alert for help.
Paramedics assessed the young boy and determined that he had suffered a “moderate” head injury, but fortunately his condition was stable and not life-threatening, barring complications.
Because of this, he was transported to Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Playa Las Americas by ambulance for further treatment.
The Local Police were also present at the site of the incident. They conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the accident and managed traffic in the area to ensure safety for other road users. The authorities are expected to release further details as their investigation progresses.
