26-year-old man rescued from drowning at beach in Costa Adeje

A 26-year-old male swimmer was rescued from the sea off Troya Beach in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife yesterday, (Friday), displaying signs of near-drowning, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) for the Canary Islands.
The incident occurred at 12:35pm, when the CECOES operational centre received an alert requesting medical assistance for the young man who had just been rescued by lifeguards at the beach.
Emergency SUC medical personnel rushed to the location given and were able to stabilise the man, who exhibited symptoms of moderate drowning, before taking him to Hospiten Sur by ambulance for further treatment.
At the time of publication, further details on the affected man’s identity or nationality have not been officially confirmed.
