A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Los Realejos, Tenerife, after allegedly committing a string of violent burglaries in record time, including breaking into homes while people were inside.
The National Police launched a special operation after a spate of robberies and break-ins took place over a short period, all following a similar pattern. Officers say the suspect is accused of carrying out three violent robberies and five break-ins, often threatening residents with a knife if they confronted him.
He reportedly stole jewellery, cash, and bank cards, which were then used to make purchases and withdraw money from cash machines. Police said the man showed a “complete disregard for the presence of occupants”, sometimes entering properties even when residents were at home.
After his arrest, he was brought before a judge who ordered that he be held in custody while the investigation continues.
