23-year-old British man killed trying to cross TF-1 motorway on foot

A 23-year-old man from England died today (Saturday) due to the severity of injuries he sustained after being run over early this morning whilst trying to cross the TF-1 motorway in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife according to information provided by the Emergency and Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

According to their report, the incident happened at approximately 4:00 this morning which is when the 1-1-2 call centre received an alert requesting urgent medical assistance for a young man who had been knocked over on the motorway.

CECOES immediately dispatched the relevant emergency resources to the location given, but unfortunately, when paramedics arrived at the scene, the man was already dead and they could only confirm that his death was compatible with the injuries he sustained in the accident.

Following this, the Guardia Civil took charge of conducting proceedings so that his body could be taken for official identification and for an autopsy, and firefighters and Highway Maintenance Service personnel collaborated with the responders and cleared the road.
