Plans to build 58 tourist villas in Caleta de Fuste have been approved with a €10 million investment aimed at upgrading one of Fuerteventura’s main resort areas.
The project is led by developer Anjoca Canarias, and has been given the go-ahead by the local council in Antigua. It will see the villas constructed on land previously occupied by the company’s offices, as part of a wider effort to modernise and improve the resort.
The development forms part of the Second Plan for Modernisation, Improvement and Increased Tourist Competitiveness of Caleta de Fuste. This initiative focuses on enhancing infrastructure and raising the overall quality of accommodation in the area.
As part of the plans, a large public green space of around 26,000 square metres will also be created. This will include a children’s play area, outdoor fitness zones, shaded seating areas and landscaped spaces designed for both residents and visitors.
The scheme will also improve connectivity in the resort, with a new pedestrian route linking this part of Caleta de Fuste to the nearby residential area of Montecastillo.
Local officials say the project reflects ongoing efforts to revitalise the resort and maintain its appeal to tourists. Caleta de Fuste remains a popular destination for holidaymakers, and improvements like these are intended to support long-term tourism growth.
Residents and visitors can expect some disruption during construction, but the finished development aims to offer upgraded facilities and more open public spaces for everyone to enjoy.
