Two taxi drivers were filmed having a fight at one of the taxi ranks in Veronicas on Monday night, which is located in the main tourist area of Arona in the south of Tenerife, as groups of holidaymakers watched on.
The violent incident took place on Avenida Rafael Puig Llivina, at the taxi rank in front of the Verónicas commercial centres where most of the nightclubs in the south of the island are located.
The altercation between the two drivers occurred in front of several groups of tourists and other taxi drivers, who tried to prevent the mutual aggression from escalating further.
At the time the incident happened, the taxis were queuing to pick up clients, and the two drivers started shouting at each other before punches were thrown.
Comments online are claiming that this type of behaviour will damage the image of the island as a tourist destination.
