Tenerife Cabildo maintains fire and BBQ ban in recreational areas and outdoors

The Tenerife Cabildo has confirmed that they are continuing to enforce the prohibition of open fires in recreational and outdoor areas, including barbecues, bonfires, stoves, or gas cookers, plus the use of any machinery or tools that could produce sparks, as well as the use of any pyrotechnic materials in high-risk areas due to the risk of forest fires.

These level 1 measures for the prevention of t fires are implemented considering the hot and dry weather conditions, and the alert declaration issued by the Government of the Canary Islands on the island of Tenerife, according to a statement from the Cabildo.

They also advise against accessing or staying in forest areas of the island while the alert situation persists and urges extreme caution throughout the entire territory with any activities that could spark fires (such as smoking, using power generators, or electrical equipment).

These restrictions will remain in effect until the alert situation concludes and the weather conditions change.
