Belgian fugitive arrested for drug trafficking in the South of Tenerife

The National Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in Arona in the south of Tenerife, who is one of the most wanted drug dealers in Belgium, and who had an active European Arrest Warrant issued against him for drug trafficking by the judicial authorities of his country.

The arrest took place after officers tasked with locating international fugitives in Tenerife, received information from the International Police Cooperation bodies, saying that he could be hiding in the south of the island, as reported by the National Police.

With this information, the agents, after numerous inquiries, managed to locate the fugitive in the municipality of Arona, where he was trying to keep a low profile by running a business in the tourist area of Playa de las Américas.

A discreet operation was carried out for his arrest, and they intercepted him in Playa de las Américas and took him into custody. He has already been brought before the central investigating courts in Arona, and is awaiting deportation back to Belgium where he will be convicted.
