A 12-year-old boy is in hospital after a near drowning in an aparthotel swimming pool in Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote last night, Friday.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre received a call at around 8:15pm asking for urgent assistance after he was pulled from the pool not breathing.
SUC paramedics were dispatched to the complex and managed to revive him when they got there and then stabilised him before rushing him to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in serious condition for further treatment.
Officers of the Guardia Civil made the appropriate reports and remind parents to not let children out of their site whilst in pools on holiday, regardless of how proficient they believe they are at swimming.
