Tezza trumps deadly Dale

ANOTHER fantastic Friday saw many close games, excellent  darts, and a brilliant atmosphere at all venues.

According to the Irish, Sundowners was the place to be with Palms Pool Bar crossing the road and sharing the points by taking the trebles. Dale starred for the visitors with a 113 checkout.

But he was trumped by Tezza, from Gaffers, as they entertained a four-man Spear Chuckers side.

The home boy checked out on 114, and Gaffers then stole the trebles for a 5-3 win and top spot in the league.

The Pub, missing man-flu victim Grizzly, suffered their first loss of the season as Phoenix Bar snatched the last game and the match 5-3. The visitors again had Mitch in fine form with another 180 to add to his collection.

A close encounter was played out at the Waterfall, where Alan and Lynn, from the Tavern A team, helped heap misery on an unfortunate home team as they hit double after double the first time of asking, to ensure their initial win of the campaign.

Picasso’s also recorded their first win when they emerged 5-3 winners in the 701 game, to frustrate an unlucky Emerald Lounge, from San Blas top square.

Star of the night in Bar 180 was Kill Bill, who, like a good rioja, gets better with age.He hit some superb scores and finished with aplomb. Despite losing the first two singles, Fluffy’s Playboys upped their game and won the next six.

In Division 2, Lady Macs hosted Legends, but their 7-1 defeat did not reflect the close games. And the home team, who threw well all night, were grateful for the help and confidence given by the more experienced Legends.

Nutty Nauta lost 6-2 to a rampant Sandys, who are matching Legends point for point at the summit. Incidentally, Sandys’ Richard hit two maximums at the singles tournament played last Friday. Well done to him!

Best finish of the night was Ourplace Breakaways’ Dan, with a 115 in a 6-2 home win against the spirited Bar Leones.

Buzzin B’s were in good form when they travelled to The Red Devils and pinched the threesome to come out on top with a 5-3 scoreline.

Pas O Nadas B had a difficult-looking fixture as they welcomed Marilyns B, but they triumphed 6-2.

And Naughty Nautas went one better as they put seven past Ourplace Playgirls in Costa del Silencio.
