Syrian’s ID papers just didn’t add up!

OFFICERS from the National Police have detained a man at Fuerteventura airport, who was attempting to travel to the UK on false British documentation.

The 33-year-old already has a police record, and the officers were informed by the airline that a person was trying to board an aeroplane with a suspicious passport, which appeared to have been tampered with.

While police were identifying the man, they were able to verify that the name on the passport was his… but the photograph showed little resemblance.

After a search of his belongings, the officers found other documentation, identifying the man as well as his nationality.

They questioned the dodgy traveller, who eventually told them his true identity and admitted he was from Syria.

He was promptly arrested for trying to leave a country using false documentation, and, along with the official police reports, he will be presented before the judicial authorities.
