Student-grant programme

THE requirements of financial aid for students in many third-level education courses (2017-2018) at university, or attending recognised professional training centres, have just been published by Adeje Council.

The assistance is aimed at Adeje residents, who have been on the padrón for at least six months.

The norms for application and allocation, approved at a Town Hall meeting on 18th April, are available (in Spanish) on the Adeje webpage,

Those interested can apply from now until 2nd July, and the paperwork must be presented to Adeje Education Department in the Cultural Centre.

Applicants have to present documentation, showing the centre where they are registered, and the course they are studying, as well as their last year’s exam results, along with financial statements regarding family income, because the grants are means-tested.

The offices are open on Mon-Fri, from 9am-2pm, or you can request an appointment by calling 922-756 200, ext 4243.

Costs covered by the grants may include transport, accommodation, books and materials.

“These grants are available to help and encourage Adeje students to continue their studies this year,” said Councillor Adolfo Alonso Ferrera.

When the application period is finished, the department will publish a list of those who may need to add further information/documentation.

Successful applicants will receive between 500-550 euros, according to individual circumstances.

All notices regarding the process will be posted in the official council channels.
