Six-year-old girl and man, 50, die in a fall

A LITTLE girl, aged six, and a 50-year-old man, died on Tuesday morning after falling from the fifth-floor window of an apartment block on the Costa del Sol.

A full police investigation is underway to discover what happened, but local Spanish media claim the man was a family friend, who was welcomed into their home. But this has not been confirmed by Spanish police.

The incident occurred at around 8.30am on Calle Jalón, in Malaga city. The 112 Emergency services were contacted by several neighbours, who reported seeing a little girl fall from a fifth-floor window, followed by an adult man.

Ambulances, the National Police and the Local Police were despatched to the scene, but emergency services were able only to confirm the two deaths.

National Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the double tragedy.

Malaga’s Emergency Co-ordination Centre (CECEM) 112 has activated its Psychological Intervention in Andalucia Emergencies and Disasters (GIPED) service to assist the families of the deceased.
