KEDDY’S Entertainment prides itself on identifying and promoting international, up-and-coming, “world-wide talent”.

So we are pleased to introduce Madrid-born Sergio Belmonte, a talented musician and singer-songwriter. It was very interesting interviewing Sergio, and hearing his story. He told us that music is in his blood, and runs in his family.

“My aunt is a musician and singer, and my dad is a self-taught musician. I pretty much grew up with music, but there was a moment in my life when I realised it was what I truly wanted to do.”

Sergio is the eldest of four siblings. He lived in his parents’ home-town of Aranjuez, slightly south of Madrid, where almost all his family still live.

He moved to Dallas, Texas, when he was three years old, because his father was studying there, and they stayed for three years. The family moved back to Spain for a year, then returned to the States for another three, so his father could finish his Master’s degree, this time in Virginia Beach, VA.

“I grew up listening to my dad playing the piano, guitar and drums. I played around with toy instruments throughout my childhood, but it wasn’t until I was about eight that I started studying music and piano. This was while we were still living in Virginia.”

After returning to Aranjuez, Sergio continued studying music and piano. “I played in a band with my friends and was practically forced to sing, and that’s when it all started! I began to realise just how much I enjoyed singing, and began learning everything I could from friends who were singers, observing different classes with several various teachers, as well as researching the internet.”

Sergio explained that when he was about 18, he decided to begin taking his singing career much more seriously. He then started to take voice lessons.

By this time, he came to realise that he wanted to focus all his efforts on singing. So he made the decision to put his piano training on hold, focusing entirely on his vocal training.

“Songwriting has been a huge part of my journey in my musical career. I can’t remember the specific moment when I began writing songs. But I do know that it was sometime during my early, teenage years. Initially, I started dabbling and messing around with notepads, sound bites and voice memos. Little by little, songs began to emerge, some good, and others not so good.”

With time, composing songs began to come much more naturally and easily. After a while, he wanted to progress to producing and recording them.

But finding a studio and a producer, that were both affordable and professional, wasn’t an easy task. Just as he was starting to record his songs, he and his family moved to Tenerife!

Sergio was not daunted, and, as soon as he arrived, he began looking in earnest for a place to continue his music studies. He particularly wanted to mention and thank “AMAE”, for being so supportive and helpful.

“I can’t begin to explain how much the school’s warm welcome, patience, and genuine interest in my career and well-being have meant to me. Coming to Tenerife has definitely been a turning point in my music career and personal life.”

Sergio really appreciates the vocal coaching and guidance he has received, and he has met some wonderfully-encouraging and professional people. He has now recorded, co-produced, and successfully released, three singles, one of which has received the award for “best original song” at the Jóvenes Promesas Arona festival, in November 2018.

His music is now available on all digital stores and streaming platforms, under his name. Sergio is also active on many social-media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and you can also take a look at his YouTube channel,  to see some behind-the-scenes clips, the story behind his songs, and lyric videos.

Sergio pays a great deal of attention to his lyrics, making the message behind each song the centre of his music. “I want to present the world with something honest and relevant, and what we can relate to. My music is a celebration of life.

“It’s a reminder that you are enough, that you are valued, and that you are loved. It aspires to be a glimmer of hope, in the midst of darkness and desperation. It hopes to point you to the future, looking to the past only to learn, and not to be defined by it. It’s a wake-up call, and a story of new beginnings!”

Keddy’s Entertainment were most impressed by his passion and commitment, and they positively shine through! Sergio wanted to finish his story by thanking his family for believing in him and backing him. “They supported my crazy dreams,” he added.

Keddy’s Entertainment is confident that the future holds a great deal of success for this incredibly-talented and driven young musician. We can’t wait to see where his passion for music will take him next.
