San Blas beach approval

Local mayor Arturo Gonzalez explained that the council will be presenting the plans for the project to the General Coasts Division which has already agreed to finance a large part of the work within the next week or so adding that if everything goes to plan work on the beach will begin in about a year’s time.

Gonzalez explained that he was satisfied with the final agreement explaining that the council’s ambitious plans for San Blas will now be able to go ahead after many year’s of planning and both the local residents and visitors to the  borough will be able to enjoy the only sandy beach in the area.

Gonzalez assured that the work would have the least possible negative impact on the environment adding that the beach will be well away from busy traffic but will be easily accessible and will have an ample car park. Furthermore there will be ample green zones alongside contributing to a relaxed pleasant atmosphere.

Although it would seem like a new idea the project has in fact been in the pipeline for many years as according to the council the beach would boost the tourist sector in the borough complementing the excellent golf courses and peace and quiet which characterise San Miguel as a tourist resort.

At present San Miguel has 4,000 tourist beds between the hotels and apartments in the borough although the council predicts that this number could be doubled over the next few years increasing in this way the urgency of creating a top quality beach .
