Post office break-in such a pain for thief

AN attempted break-in at a post office in Adeje, during the early hours of last Thursday, ended abruptly after a man was seen jumping over the fence surrounding the building.

He smashed a small, vertical window, through which he attempted to squeeze in, to gain entry to the Calle el Grande premises, in the centre of Adeje.

However, in the process, the would-be thief suffered several cuts to various parts of his body. And after failing to crawl through

the narrow space, the man fled, leaving a trail of blood for Guardia Civil officers to follow, before it disappeared.

They believe the person could be a young offender from Adeje, and they are now searching for him.

Officers are sure the suspect is a recognisable criminal, known to them because of similar crimes he has committed over the last few years.
