The Oscars bag La Palma

EVEN if they failed to capture a statue at the Dolby Theatre’s Academy Awards, in Los Angeles, all 24 nominees for the top individual categories will still have received a special prize of their own.

This year’s “Everyone Wins” nominee gift bag, from marketing company Distinctive Assets, is valued at $225,000, according to Forbes, and includes exclusive trips, hotel stays and cosmetic treatments.

And, would you believe it, La Palma’s lighthouse, which still operates, has been offered as a gift. The true cost would be around $1,700 a night (€1,).

The goodie-bag recipient, and seven additional guests, will be able to stay at the Faro Cumplida lighthouse, on the northern tip of the Canary Island.

The active lighthouse is 34 metres high (112ft) and even has an infinity pool. A typical stay at this unusual, de-luxe spot costs around €1, 550 a night.
