Nigerian women shamed

THE National Police have detained a 29-year-old Nigerian woman in Arrecife, Lanzarote, for human-trafficking, following the released of two other females from the same country.

The madam held was part of an organisation introducing illegal females into Spain, then subjecting them to voodoo rituals and forcing them into prostitution.

The Nigerian youngsters are now being assisted by a protection centre for victims of human-trafficking.

According to police, they were paying off a debt, ranging from 20,000-55,000 euros, incurred, supposedly, as a result of their trip to Europe.

The police investigation began in 2015, when, following anonymous reports, they became aware that Nigerian women were being subjected to sexual exploitation in Lanzarote.

The probe culminated in the Nigerian madam’s arrest, because she was responsible for forcing young Nigerian women to prostitute themselves. She was also charged with human-trafficking.

The cops also searched a property in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, in which a sum of 3,500 euros was discovered, along with foreign currency and computers, which will be analysed by police experts.
