Mum and son rescued from quad-bike plight
A MOTHER and son, enjoying an excursion on an off-road quad bike in the Icod de los Vinos area of Fuente Santa forest, went off the specific route, accidentally, and drove down a mountain side.
The Guardia Civil were alerted, and, on arrival, were welcomed by several anxious onlookers.
Officers noticed the couple’s yellow Quad, practically at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by rocks, then saw the victims, who appeared to be injured.
They climbed down to help them, immediately, and realised that the mum had suffered serious bruising. She also had a painful left leg, while her son, who was covered with cuts and bruises, from head to toe, complained of a pain in one arm.
A team of fire-fighters and medics, summoned to assist, immediately began a rescue operation from the precarious area.
Once clear of the slope, the mum and son were assessed by the medics, who determined that they needed further treatment, and took them to a nearby hospital.
