Meet Sugar!
SUGAR was found up north in Garachico, and was brought to us at the refuge a few days later.
She is a lovely, small-to-medium-sized animal, about 18 months old, and is very friendly with humans and other dogs. We suspect she has spent a large amount of her life on the streets, yet she is still enthusiastic about everything, and very cheerful.
When she arrived, she had an old fracture of her back leg, which left her thigh muscle too short to use. It was clear that the amputation of this leg would increase her quality of life, as it was only getting in the way when she walked and went to the toilet. She has now had this done, so it’s vital that she walks as much as possible, in order to build up the muscles of the remaining back leg, and to get used to walking on three legs.
The refuge is not the ideal place for her to recover. Ideally, she needs a warm and loving home where she can recover properly, and get used to her new life. If you would like to offer lovely Sugar a home, please contact us at the refuge, or come and meet her!
Many thanks
We would like to say a massive thank you to Aqua Club Thermal Spa, who held a fundraising campaign for us in June, raising a whopping 339 euros!
Car-boot sales
The K9 car-boot sales are now cancelled until September.
