Luc and Daddy so Cool

IT’S Week 21, and the relentless Pas O Nadas A march on, with 180s for Luc and Daddy Cool, both in the same leg of doubles.

Quite why it took them another nine darts to win the leg is anyone’s guess. But, at 5-0 from the singles, I don’t suppose they were under much pressure to rush it, and 15 darts for a game of doubles is hardly sloppy.

Anyway, they were generous enough to let Scooters&Chevys A have the trebles’ game, so it finished 7-1.

Ourplace Playboys found themselves in a similar position at 5-0 down to Gaffers#Teamhollywood. They then took the first doubles game, but that’s as far as the fightback went, though, and they also lost 7-1.

The Pub v Mad Hatters was bound to be a closer game, so I’ll let John Mcwhirter tell you what happened:

“The Pub 4 The Madhatter 4. What an absolutely belting night with Grizzly and crew; good darts, good company and great banter.

“The Pub won the singles 3-2, the doubles finished 1-1, and the trebles went to the Hatter.

Harvey, of the Hatter, had a 180, and Ally from The Pub had an excellent 161 check-out. Thanks to all for a brilliant night.”

Pas O Nadas Int didn’t want to be outdone by their stablemates, and they took the first four singles without losing a leg, against The Loch Inn Bullseyes.

But Tommy was having none of it, and he took the last singles game. A draw was now possible, but the resistance was over, and another 7-1 followed.

Suters 20;30 Crew v Sandys Bookie Boys, we have a quote from Edward, I think it’s his first, so only fair to use it: “Suters 6-2 Bookie Boys. Trebles to Suters. Taylor (fat boy) 125 out. Great to catch up with some old friends.

Oh, and Jamie wants a mention of his 41 check-out. “Chucked the 1st dart out the board, to then go 1 double top.”

Of course, what we don’t know, is whether that first dart was deliberate.

Sandys Bandits v Waterfall rounds up Division 1, and although there were some close games, the home team ran out 6-2 winners.

In Division 2, we start with The Club House v Sundowners. The sun went down on Sundowners I’m afraid, and it doesn’t get much tougher. They lost all 15 legs, and, of course., the match 8-0.

Marilyns v Naughty Nautas was a much closer affair, and a “fantastic evening”, by all accounts, so they were probably both quite happy with the 4-4 scoreline.

Clouseau’s were at home to the Palms Sports Bar, and, apparently it was a “great night”. And, no doubt, again, both teams were happy with the 4-4 draw.

Pas O Nadas were away to Ourplace Breakaways, and they couldn’t make it 3 out of 3 for the El Ritual teams, could they? In a word, Yes! The win wasn’t as emphatic as their stablemates, because they needed the trebles to seal a 5-3 win.

Pink Elephant did what they do. I don’t have any details other than: “Pink Elephant won some games, and the visiting Emerald lounge didn’t, so another 8-0!

Scooters&Chevys B were set to play Club Activo, but, unfortunately, they didn’t update their captain’s book, and it seems that nobody on their team realised they had to play. So, because Club Activo turned up, and the home team didn’t, an 8-0 result was awarded.

It was such a shame. Activo were late entries to the league, which is why their fixtures are not listed. But every team in the division had already played them at least once, without a hitch … including Scooters!
