Head to Toe
That’s what the new beauty and hair salon in C.C. Salytien, Playa de las Americas can do for you; they can pamper you from head to toe.
Head to Toe is located in the former premises of Blew Hairdressers, near Bingo, Bingo and before the Casino.
Ray Evans from Staffordshire has joined forces with beautician ‘Irish’ Emma to set up the venture.
Ray told Canarian Weekly, “I’ve visited Tenerife many times on holiday and saw an opportunity in the market, originally I was going to invest in a bar, but as a long term visitor I saw the declining state – and this seemed the right move”
The salon in Salytien is easy to get to, accessible from the beach front, or, you can park in the car park next door and the exit brings you right out at the salon.
If you have mobility problems then Head to Toe will even visit you in your own home, or alternatively bring you to the salon if you want a number of treatments.
“We’re in what was Blew’s old premises, it looks a bit different now as we have made some drastic changes, but, we would like to invite the old clients back to see what we’ve done to the place”
The Salon opened at the end of last year and already hairdressers Vicky and Debbie are busy with clients. Vicky, from Kent told Canarian Weekly, “We provide a full consultation and listen to the needs and requirements of our customers, whether it is ladies, gents, kids - a simple fringe or hair extensions.”
Emma explained, I’ve been out of the salon environment for a while, but still on the island, it’s nice to catch up with my clients again.”
She said, “As well as the staple beauty treatments for nails and body we also offer ear piercing and laser hair removal”
“We use a range of products including: - The Edge for nails, Tigi, Affinage, and Kaesco Collection which is new for beauty in the UK.”
Head to Toe opens every day except Sunday. 10am – 6pm (Friday 8pm) so see the advert on page 14 and give them a call. Whether it’s for a colour, a cut, gel toes, massage, fake tan or eyebrow trim they’ll welcome you with open arms and pamper you from head to toe!

Sandra back in the
swing with Zurich

SANDRA O’FLYNN didn’t hesitate when she was offered a job as a commercial rep by Susana Dias, at Zurich Insurance.

After all, the 34-year-old, from County Cork, had enjoyed meeting people for several years as a holiday rep in Tenerife. And previously, in Ireland, she had worked as a qualified legal secretary.

What made her slightly tentative, however, was the fact that she had not worked for seven years, since having her daughter, Hannah, who has cerebral palsy.

“My job is to attract new custom to the company and, having mixed with the public for years, it didn’t bother me because it was still repping, in a way,” said Sandra. “But I was out of practice and that did concern me a little.”

She needn’t have worried. Having joined the Los Cristianos-based company two months ago, she has been made more than welcome by the friendly staff.

“Nothing is too much trouble for them, and that applies to the customers as well,” she said. “Susana was so helpful during my training and I feel really comfortable.”

Sandra stressed that her job was to generate custom for Zurich TVT agency– and that’s all! “I’m not a broker or an agent but a commercial rep (auxiliary externo),” she added.

She lives on Golf del Sur with her partner, Stef, and daughter Hannah, and it is where she is based, taking care of that area, plus Amarilla Golf and Costa del Silencio.

Zurich TVT agency’s latest recruit virtually stumbled on to the job, having enquired about a house insurance policy for a friend. “She was paying over 400 euros a year, which seemed really steep, so I contacted Zurich and discovered it was way over the odds,” said Sandra.

“I learned a lot about insurance policies from that one meeting and was delighted when Susana asked me to join her company.”

If you would like your insurances checked and, maybe offered lower premiums, call Sandra O’Flynn on 610 254 471, or email her at golf@tvtseguros.com
