The Cabildo from Tenerife collaborates in extinguishing the fire in La Gomera
The Cabildo from Tenerife is collaborating in the work of extinguishing the fire that has affected the island of La Gomera since last Saturday this 26th April. The island Corporation has sent a contingent close to thirty individuals belonging to the operational Brifor and the Consortium of Firefighters, as well as various technical resources among them a helicopter, seven vehicles and a portable radio and 13 fire fighters.

The overall coordinator for Mobility and Security of Cabildo, Manuel Ortega, indicates that "the Cabildo from Tenerife has provided support in La Gomera since the beginning with the dispatch of firefighters and vehicles belonging to the Consortium of Fire and the operational Brifor on the Environment. We must bear in mind that the island of Tenerife, like the rest of the archipelago, is in a situation of early heat wave and haze and that since the calima last Thursday the Cabildo has been on alert for forest fires. Ortega states that "Our staff has worked with efficiency and we have successfully resolved four attempted fires this weekend in Tenerife and we have been sensitive with citizens and authorities of La Gomera with the shipment of part of our human and technical resources. The Cabildo will continue working to control as soon as possible the fire.”
