Tenerife roads appear to have new fixed radar equipment. A Spanish motoring site has received the information detailing an outline with photos of the exact location in Tenerife of the new radars installed by the DGT. We’ve all seen the radar warning signs but seen little evidence of the equipment. As the authorities appear to be in the middle of a traffic campaign, take heed. Radar Equipment is at the following locations:- Zona Norte: North Zone: Autopista TF 5 - Guamasa / El Norte hacia SC de Tenerife - Km 15 Highway TF 5 - Guamasa / The North to SC Tenerife - 15 Km Autopista TF 5 - El Sauzal / SC de Tenerife hacia el Norte - Km 20,7 Highway TF 5 - El Sauzal / SC Tenerife toward the North - 20.7 km Zona Sur: South Zone: Autopista TF 1 - Aeropuerto Sur / SC de Tenerife hacia el Sur - km 59,3 TF Highway 1 - South Airport / SC Tenerife south - 59.3 km Autopista TF 1 - Las Caletillas / Sur hacia SC de Tenerife - Km 14,1 TF Highway 1 - Las Caletillas / South to SC Tenerife - 14.1 km Radars of this nature raise many issues as when introduced in the UK. Basically it is legal for your vehicle to be caught on camera and then for you to receive the fine through the post. Issues in Tenerife arise over signage, post and vehicle registration to name but a few. We will have to wait and see how the story unfolds.
